New Images Help You Picture Life at Fountaingate Gardens

While we do our best to write descriptions of what to expect from Fountaingate Gardens—a Life Plan Community (also known as Continuing Care Retirement Community, or CCRC) to be built in Commack—we know that a photo is worth a thousand words. And recently, Perkins Eastman, the architects behind Fountaingate Gardens, released a more detailed landscape plan of the proposed community, with illustrations of the design elements intended for this vibrant lifestyle option. These illustrations are meant to be a representation of what some of the design elements expected to be offered could look like once Fountaingate Gardens is built.

We are delighted to present the updated site plan, below:

As you can see, the plan includes five unique gardens – sculpture, woodland, rock, sensory and community – where you’re sure to find your peaceful spot. Note that the design of the nearly 11 acres that Fountaingate Gardens will sit on preserves and enhances the greenery and natural settings. That’s because we’re locating all resident parking underground! Cars will be protected during inclement weather and residents will benefit from unobstructed views of the planned gardens, trails and pond. There will be ample opportunities for exercise, including a dedicated outdoor yoga space (11), fitness (12) and nature trails (6), and separate courts for Pickleball (13) and tennis (14).

If you’d rather relax and enjoy the natural settings, you can sit by the pond (15) or watch the waterfalls at the plaza (3).  Allow  the views to stimulate the artist in you to paint or draw, relax with a good book or a cup of coffee, or visit with friends and family.

The promenade, waterfalls plaza, and the main gardens will feature beautifully landscaped flowerbeds with walking paths throughout. The waterfalls will flow into the pond at the center of campus, bringing movement to the water. Inspirations for these elements are shown in the photographs below.

Along the side of the pond is an area dedicated to physical wellness, starting with the food you eat. Here, you’ll find the community garden, where residents can grow vegetables, fruits, herbs and more. A full tennis court plus two pickleball courts, as requested by several future depositors, will be the location for some fun competition. The outdoor yoga/exercise space ties in with the looping fitness trail, bringing all of these wellness amenities together.

The community gardens, pickleball courts,  tennis courts and and fitness trail will be located in a nature-filled section of the Fountaingate Gardens campus.

Finally, Perkins Eastman shared inspiration for the gardens that have been thoughtfully incorporated into the plan. Whether you prefer the feeling of being out in the woods, the strong lines and sculptural beauty of rock formations, or listening to the wind play through the sensory garden, Fountaingate Gardens will have a place for you to relax and reconnect.

The promenade meanders past a variety of beautiful gardens – a woodland garden, a sensory garden and a rock garden.
