There are many reasons to become a member of Gurwin’s Fountaingate Gardens, Long Island’s newest Life Plan Community*. In addition to choosing your ideal residence, you also get a chance to secure your future and live with long-term peace of mind. No one knows this better than Normil and Denise Cadet, retired medical professionals who are thrilled to call Fountaingate Gardens “home.”

The Gurwin reputation stands out

When the Cadets share their reasons for joining the Fountaingate Gardens community, the Gurwin name comes up pretty quickly.

“We have spent a long time – I’m talking about 50 years – in the medical field,” Normil said, “and I chose Fountaingate Gardens because of what I know.”

A large part of the Cadet’s confidence in the Gurwin name has to do with health care. With a full continuum of care immediately accessible to all residents, should the need arise, Fountaingate Gardens offers total peace of mind.

Denise immediately chimed in, “Gurwin is one of the best.”

“Gurwin has a good reputation. We have good communication with them, and we know what they are giving as far as care,” Normil continued. “So, we decided to give it a shot.”

“When you’re getting older, you want the best care,” explained Normil, “and Gurwin is one of the best.”

Amenities and activities abound

Gurwin’s reputation of quality extends to multiple facets of community life. Amenities abound at Fountaingate Gardens, from the salon and spa services, to the state-of-the-art wellness center, to the diverse array of chef-prepared meals available through any our fresh dining options.

With the mention of food, Denise gave a laugh. “You can’t forget about good food! With any community, I’m not going if the food is not good.”

The Cadets also enjoy the a wide array of engaging activities that Fountaingate Gardens provides, from exercise classes to the art studio.

“I like activities like Zumba” said Denise, “and walking – anything active! I also like golf, and there is a golf directly across the way from Fountaingate Gardens.”

Many activities are based in the Fountiangate Gardens Clubhouse, which includes an indoor, heated swimming pool, a fitness center, card room, an art studio, library, theater, and so much more. Better still, there are several additional meeting areas that are ripe for activities created and run by our very own community members. With so many fun options at their fingertips, the Cadets are able to engage in exciting activities with their new neighbors.

Coming home

Since they haven’t been residents of the Commack area for some time now, they are thrilled to be back; the neighborhoods surrounding Fountaingate Gardens’ are ones they’re very familiar with.  “We lived in Dix Hills for 25 years, and Fountaingate Gardens is walking distance from there,” Normil said. “I am living in a community I already know.”

Denise agreed. “We have wonderful memories from Dix Hills. That’s part of why we chose Fountaingate Gardens. Not only for the beauty of the place, but for the people. There is a very tight community built around the people that live there.”
