Bonnie and Stu Soman are members of the “Fountaingate Gardens Founders Club” – meaning they were one of the first to place a deposit and reserve their new home prior to the community’s opening. They chose the Dogwood floor plan, a spacious two-bedroom with den in our Parkview building.  The added benefits that Fountaingate Gardens will provide as a Life Plan Community* were the deciding factors that helped Bonnie and Stu make the decision to make the move from their 55+ community.

“My husband and I downsized from our home years ago to move to a 55+ community,” said Bonnie. “What I had hoped at that time, in planning for the future, was that we’d have less worries about caring for our home, and more of a social life within the community. And, at the beginning that was true. But over the years, it became less satisfying. There wasn’t enough social activity, and while management took care of everything on the outside, maintenance on the inside of our home was our responsibility. We were tired of the upkeep and replacing appliances like our fridge, microwave and washing machine.”

When Bonnie first heard about Fountaingate Gardens and all that a Life Plan Community promises, she decided to learn more.

“I’m a planner; I plan for our future,” she explained. “I stopped in [to Fountaingate Gardens] and spoke with the team. I liked it immediately.”

Beyond the appeal of maintenance-free living, Bonnie relishes the community’s active social life and not having to cook dinner every night – which also means less grocery shopping!

The Somans chose to make their forever home in the Parkview Residences, which is connected to the Fountaingate Gardens clubhouse via a temperature controlled, enclosed walkway. That means they won’t have to put on boots to go to dinner or to the pool — another perk Bonnie likes!
