Bonnie and Stu Soman are members of the Fountaingate Gardens Founders Club – meaning they’ve placed a deposit at our soon-to-be-built community to reserve their new home. They chose the Dogwood floor plan, a spacious two-bedroom with den in our Parkview building. The added benefits that Fountaingate Gardens will provide as a Life Plan Community* were the deciding factors that helped Bonnie and Stu make the decision to make the move from their 55+ community.
“Twelve years ago, we moved from our home to a 55+ community,” said Bonnie. “What I had hoped at that time, in planning for the future, was that we’d have less worries about caring for our home, and more of a social life within the community. And, at the beginning that was true. But over the years, it has become less satisfying. There isn’t enough social activity, and while they take care of everything on the outside, maintenance on the inside of our home is our responsibility. I’m tired of it. We’ve already replaced a fridge, microwave and washing machine.”
When Bonnie saw an ad on social media for Fountaingate Gardens, she decided to learn more.
“I’m a planner; I plan for our future,” she explained. “I stopped in [to Fountaingate Gardens] and spoke with the team. I liked it immediately.”
Beyond the appeal of maintenance-free living, Bonnie is looking forward to the social life and not having to cook dinner every night – which also means less grocery shopping!
The Somans chose to make their next home in the Parkview building, which will be connected to the Fountaingate Gardens clubhouse via enclosed walkways. That means they won’t have to put on boots to go to dinner or to the pool; another perk Bonnie likes.
The Perks of Depositing Early
“I like getting in on the ground floor – I want to move in with everyone,” said Bonnie. “I didn’t want to be the new girl!”
Beyond the social perks of moving in at the same time as others, the Somans had total confidence in the financial aspect of depositing.
“It’s a no brainer; a win-win situation,” Bonnie said. “The deposits and entrance fee are fully refundable until the day you’re supposed to move in. The funds are in an escrow account, so financially it’s not a risk.”
